What is OPEN - Women?

The OPEN (General) category in Maharashtra NEET counselling is available to all candidates regardless of caste, community, or religion. There is no reservation percentage for this category; instead, OPEN seats are filled purely on NEET All India Rank merit after reserved category seats are allocated. Any candidate from any background can compete for OPEN seats, making this the most competitive category with the lowest (best) closing ranks. No caste certificate or special documentation is required beyond the standard admission documents, domicile certificate (for Maharashtra state quota seats), and NEET scorecard.

Women quota: 30% of seats are reserved horizontally for women across all categories in government and government-aided colleges. This means 30% of each category's allocation (OPEN, OBC, SC, etc.) is set aside for female candidates. If the women's quota seats are not filled, they revert to male candidates in the same category.

The OPEN - Women category has cutoff data available across 29 dental colleges in Maharashtra. This data covers 3 years of counselling from 2023 to 2025. Closing ranks for this category range from 46,362 (most competitive) to 5,59,773 (least competitive).
