Our approach

neet2seat exists to give NEET-UG aspirants reliable, structured data for medical college counselling. Every number on this site traces back to an official source. We do not use crowd-sourced data, self-reported scores, or unverified third-party datasets.

Data sources

We use three categories of official data:

  • Cutoff and allotment data— Extracted from official PDF allotment lists published by CET Cell (Maharashtra), KEA (Karnataka), and MCC (All India Quota). We parse these PDFs programmatically and verify the results against the originals.
  • College profiles— Sourced from the National Medical Commission (NMC) website. This includes MBBS seat counts, hospital beds, faculty counts, fee structures, hostel capacity, and accreditation status.
  • Counselling guides— Reviewed, vetted, and edited by our editorial team based on official counselling authority documentation, information bulletins, and published procedures.

Verification process

We run a four-step verification process before publishing any cutoff data:

  1. Pipeline consistency— Our parser extracts data from official PDFs and checks for structural anomalies (missing columns, merged cells, encoding issues).
  2. Independent cross-check— A separate PDF reader independently extracts a sample of records from the same source PDFs. We compare results against the primary parser output.
  3. Aggregate parity— We verify that total seat counts and category distributions match the official seat matrix published by each counselling authority.
  4. Random human check— Our editorial team manually spot-checks a random selection of records against the original PDF to catch edge cases that automated checks may miss.

Update frequency

Cutoff data is updated when new official allotment lists are published, typically during each counselling round (August through November). College profile data is refreshed when NMC publishes updated records. We aim to have new round data live within 48 hours of official publication.

Corrections

If you find an error in our data, please contact us with the page URL, the incorrect value, and a reference to the correct official source. We verify all reported corrections against official documents before updating.

Limitations

Our analysis tools (college predictor, choice filler, round counsellor) use historical data to generate recommendations. Past cutoff trends do not guarantee future results. Counselling rules, seat matrices, and category reservations can change between years. Always verify current-year rules on the official counselling authority website.

Content guidelines

Counselling guides published on neet2seat follow these principles:

  • All claims reference specific official documents or published procedures
  • Dates, deadlines, and fee amounts cite the source year and authority
  • Guides are reviewed by our editorial team and updated before each counselling season
  • We distinguish clearly between facts (official rules) and analysis (our interpretation of trends)
