What we collect

When you create an account, we store your mobile phone number (used to verify your identity via OTP). You may optionally provide your email address for account recovery.

When you use the college predictor or choice-filling optimizer, we store your NEET All India Rank, category, and preferred state in your user profile. This data is needed to generate personalized predictions and preference lists.

If you purchase a paid plan, we store a record of the transaction (Razorpay order and payment IDs, amount, and date). We do not store your card number or bank details; those are handled entirely by Razorpay.

What we do not collect

Card numbers, bank account details, or UPI IDs (payments are processed by Razorpay; we only store transaction references)
Personal documents (Aadhaar, domicile certificates, caste certificates)
Physical addresses
Data from other websites or apps you use

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people use the site: which pages are visited, which tools are used, and how users navigate. GA4 collects anonymized usage data including page URLs, browser type, screen size, and approximate geographic region. GA4 does not collect your name, email, or NEET rank.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

How we use your data

Your NEET rank and category power the predictor and optimizer; without them, these tools cannot function
Your phone number lets us authenticate your account via OTP
Analytics data helps us understand which features are useful and where the site needs improvement

What we never do with your data

Sell or share your personal data with third parties
Send marketing emails or spam
Display advertising based on your profile
Share your NEET rank or category with other users

Data storage

Your account data is stored in a MongoDB database hosted on Railway (cloud infrastructure). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

Data retention

Your account data is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account from the Profile page. Deletion removes your profile, shortlists, saved preference lists, and notification signups permanently. Alternatively, email [email protected] and we will process the request within 7 days.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf:

2Factor.in receives your phone number to deliver OTP messages. It does not store your number after delivery.
Razorpay processes payments. We share only the minimum information required to complete the transaction. Razorpay is PCI-DSS compliant.
Google Analytics 4 collects anonymized usage data as described in the Analytics section above.

Cookies

neet2seat uses a short-lived access token held in browser memory (cleared when you close the tab) and a refresh token stored in an HTTP-only cookie (not accessible to JavaScript). GA4 uses first-party cookies to distinguish unique visitors. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this policy as neet2seat adds features. Changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
