Tamil Nadu’s management quota MBBS and BDS applications close in a week. The Selection Committee (DME) has fixed 23 July 2026, 5 PM as the last date for both management and government quota, and has ruled out any extension.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority has opened a fresh UGNEET-2026 registration for NEET UG 2026 candidates who did not apply for the Karnataka CET. It runs from 2 PM on 17 July to 11 AM on 24 July, and it is the only way into the first three allotment rounds.

NTA has released the NEET UG 2026 final answer key (exam held 21 June 2026) at neet.nta.nic.in. One question was dropped and one accepted with two correct options. The final key cannot be challenged, and the result will be prepared on its basis. Check your score now.

The NMC has notified 1,36,939 MBBS seats across 823 colleges for 2026-27, up 9,911. But almost 4 of every 5 new seats are private; government capacity grew just 3.4%. Karnataka leads with 15,395 seats, Uttar Pradesh has the most colleges.

The National Medical Commission has cleared five new government medical colleges in Chhattisgarh (Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, Manendragarh, Geedam and Kunkuri), adding 250 MBBS seats from the 2026-27 session. Government MBBS seats in the state rise from 1,430 to 1,680.

Tamil Nadu’s 2026 MBBS and BDS counselling opened on 29 June. Six rules have changed from last year: a Round 2 free exit for management seats, a nativity rule for minority seats, more sports seats, easier disability certificates, and a rule charging MBBS fees for four and a half years only.
