Dental colleges in Karnataka

Karnataka has 52 dental colleges participating in NEET-UG counselling — 3 government, 49 private. Together they offer 1,963 BDS seats across state quota and All India Quota rounds.

These colleges are in 22 cities. Bengaluru (Bangalore) has the most with 17, followed by Mangaluru (Mangalore) (5), Raichur (3), Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) (3), Belagavi (Belgaum) (2).

The average intake per college is 38 seats. A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences has the largest intake at 100 seats; Sri Siddhartha Dental College has the smallest at 40.

Government colleges account for 63 seats (3% of total) while private and deemed institutions contribute 1,900. Candidates targeting lower fees should focus on government colleges, where competition is stiffer.
