Andhra Pradesh NEET MBBS Counselling Documents

Every document an Andhra Pradesh candidate needs, covering the national papers every applicant must carry, plus the YSRUHS state-quota proofs under Article 371-D. What each one is, how to get it, what it costs, and the mistakes that cost a seat.

Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS)Verified 7 June 2026

Andhra Pradesh decides local status by study, under Article 371-D

Your eligibility is set by where you studied, not a simple address. Under Article 371-D, you are a local candidate mainly by studying seven consecutive years in Andhra Pradesh, shown on study certificates from Class 6 to Intermediate. If you did not study here, there is a stricter residence route, and if your board is not the state board, CBSE or ICSE, you also need an equivalency certificate.

How Andhra Pradesh fixes your local status

Study route (most candidates). Class 6 to Intermediate study certificates proving the consecutive years in AP set your local area and local status under Article 371-D.

Residence route (if you did not study here). A ten-year residence certificate from the MRO/Tahsildar, which explicitly excludes any period spent studying or working outside the state.

You are considered for the 85% state quota and the 15% All India Quota run by the MCC. The documents below cover both. One difference for AIQ: your OBC certificate must be on the Central OBC-NCL list in the central format, because an AP integrated community / BC certificate works for the state quota but is rejected for AIQ. If you plan to use both, get a central-list OBC-NCL certificate as well.

Local status under Article 371-D

This decides whether you are local (and to which university area) for the 85% quota. Most qualify by study; the rest by long residence.

Study Certificates (Class 6 to Intermediate)

Heads of the institutions attended

Start now
What it is
The primary proof of local status; the consecutive academic years you studied in Andhra Pradesh decide your local area.
How to get it
Collect study certificates from each institution you attended from Class 6 to Intermediate (10+2).
What it costs
Nominal / free from the institutions.
How long
Allow 1–2 weeks to gather them all.

Watch out: Local-area status turns on where you spent the qualifying consecutive years, so missing a year's certificate can change your area or void the local claim.

10-Year Residence Certificate

MRO / Tahsildar

Time-bound
What it is
The alternative local-status route for candidates who did not study continuously in Andhra Pradesh.
How to get it
Apply to the MRO/Tahsildar (commonly via the state's online services) for a ten-year residence certificate.
What it costs
Nominal (around Rs.35).
How long
About 1–2 weeks.

Watch out: Periods spent studying or working outside the state are excluded from the ten years, so gaps break the claim.

Reservation & fee documents

Only if it applies to you

Only if you are claiming a reserved category or a fee concession.

Integrated Community Certificate

Tahsildar via the state online service (MeeSeva-type)

Time-bound
What it is
Proof of your category (BC/SC/ST) for the AP quota.
How to get it
Apply through the state's citizen-service portal; the integrated community certificate is the accepted format.
What it costs
Around Rs.35.
How long
About 7–15 days.

Watch out: Use the current integrated format from an AP authority; an old or out-of-state certificate is rejected.

Income Certificate

Tahsildar via the state online service

Time-bound
What it is
For income-linked categories (BC-E, EWS) and fee concessions.
How to get it
Apply through the citizen-service portal with income proof.
What it costs
Around Rs.35.
How long
About 7–15 days.

Watch out: Income certificates lapse, so get a fresh one for this cycle.

Special quotas & board equivalence

Only if it applies to you

Only if these apply to you.

Equivalency Certificate

Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh

Standard
What it is
Required if you passed from a board other than the AP state board, CBSE or ICSE.
How to get it
Apply to the Board of Intermediate Education for equivalence of your qualifying examination.
What it costs
Nominal.
How long
Allow a couple of weeks.

Watch out: Without it, a non-standard board candidate's qualification may not be accepted.

Minority Certificate

Competent authority

Standard
What it is
For admission to minority institutions.
How to get it
Obtain the minority certificate the institution requires from the competent authority.
What it costs
Nominal.
How long
Varies.

Watch out: Minority seats follow each institution's own rules, so confirm in the 2026 prospectus.

PwBD Certificate

State-specified authority / MCC centre (AIQ)

Start now
What it is
For the Persons with Benchmark Disability horizontal quota.
How to get it
For the state quota, use the route in the AP brochure with a valid UDID card. For AIQ you need a separate certificate from one of the MCC's roughly 16 designated centres.
What it costs
Free at a government facility.
How long
Apply early; slots are limited.

Watch out: A state PwBD certificate does not cover your AIQ PwBD claim, and vice versa.

The Andhra Pradesh checklist

  • Study certificates Class 6–Intermediate: the spine of your local-status claim under Article 371-D.
  • No continuous study here? Ten-year residence certificate (MRO/Tahsildar), excluding out-of-state periods.
  • Non-standard board: get an equivalency certificate from the Board of Intermediate.
  • Category & income: current AP integrated certificates, freshly dated.
  • Central vs state for AIQ: AP category certificates are for the state quota; AIQ needs a central-list OBC-NCL certificate.

Keep the full Andhra Pradesh checklist

Download the branded PDF with every document, authority, cost and watch-out, ready to print and tick off.

You apply to two pools. Every Andhra Pradesh candidate also needs the All India Quota documents, so see the AIQ guide.

About this guide

Verified 7 June 2026

Prepared by neet2seat. Rules, fees and timelines were verified against official sources as of 7 June 2026, using the 2025 counselling cycle as the baseline because the 2026 MCC and state information bulletins were not yet published when this was written. The 3 May 2026 NEET UG exam was cancelled; the re-exam is on 21 June 2026 with results expected in July, so every counselling date will move accordingly. Fee figures are from 2025 bulletins and can change. Cross-check the exact proforma, fee and signing authority against the official 2026 brochure before you get any certificate made. This is information, not legal advice.
