Delhi NEET MBBS Counselling Documents
Every document a Delhi candidate needs, including the national papers every applicant carries plus the IPU / DU state-quota proofs. For each one you get what it is, how to obtain it, what it costs, and the mistakes that can cost you a seat.
Delhi turns on where you did Class 11 and 12, not on a domicile certificate
There is no Delhi domicile certificate for medical admission. The 85% Delhi quota goes to candidates who studied both Class 11 and Class 12 in a recognised school in the NCT of Delhi and passed the qualifying exam from a Delhi school. You prove this with a school certificate from the Principal, on the prescribed proforma, confirming that the school is in NCT Delhi.
How Delhi MBBS/BDS is actually counselled
Almost all of it runs through MCC. For the Delhi University colleges (LHMC, MAMC, UCMS and MAIDS) and the central institutes under IP University (VMMC & Safdarjang, ABVIMS & RML, ESIC Dental), MCC handles both the 15% All India Quota and the 85% Delhi/Institutional quota on a single registration at mcc.nic.in. The MCC bulletin puts it plainly: 'the roster on the 100% seats i.e. 15% AIQ and 85% State Quota seats will be applied by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW'. Only a few Delhi-government colleges (North DMC / Hindu Rao, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar) are counselled by GGSIPU, and the Army College of Medical Sciences admits separately.
What qualifies you for the 85% Delhi quota is where you studied, not domicile. You must have studied Classes 11 and 12 in a recognised school in NCT Delhi and passed the qualifying examination from a school located in NCT of Delhi. There is no Delhi domicile certificate for medical admission; your school records on the prescribed format are the proof.
You are considered for the 85% Delhi quota and the 15% All India Quota, and for the DU and IP-University central colleges MCC runs both pools on one registration. Reservation is where the two pools differ. For the MCC-counselled colleges, OBC must be on the Central OBC-NCL list in the central format for both the AIQ and the 85% state quota; a Delhi (GNCTD) OBC certificate is not accepted there. For the GGSIPU-counselled Delhi-government colleges (North DMC / Hindu Rao, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar), the SC/ST/OBC certificate must instead be issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi. If you are aiming at both sets of colleges, hold both versions of your OBC certificate.

National Testing Agency (NTA)

- Download it from neet.nta.nic.in. A fresh admit card is being issued for the 21 June 2026 re-exam, so your old 3 May admit card no longer counts.

- You can download it the moment it is released, expected by mid-June 2026.
NEET UG 2026 Scorecard / Rank Letter
National Testing Agency (NTA)
- What it is
- This shows your percentile, your marks and your All India Rank. The whole allotment runs on this rank.
- How to get it
- Download it from neet.nta.nic.in once results are out, expected July 2026.
- What it costs
- Free.
- How long
- You can download it the moment results are declared.
Class 10 Certificate / Marksheet
Recognised national or state board
- What it is
- This is the accepted proof of your date of birth. The counselling authority wants the board certificate, not a municipal birth certificate.
- How to get it
- You already have this one. If you have lost it, apply to your board for a duplicate well before counselling starts.
- What it costs
- Free if you have it; a duplicate from the board costs about Rs.100–500.
- How long
- Ready straight away if you have it; a board duplicate can take 2–4 weeks.
Class 12 Marksheet + Passing Certificate
Recognised national or state board
- What it is
- This proves you cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotech and English, and met the required aggregate (50% Open/EWS, 40% SC/ST/OBC, 40% Open-PwBD).
- How to get it
- You already have this one. It must show your individual subject marks.
- What it costs
- Free if you have it.
- How long
- Ready straight away if you have it.
Government Photo ID
Aadhaar / PAN / Passport / Voter ID / Driving Licence
- What it is
- This checks your identity against the admit card so nobody can sit in your place.
- How to get it
- Bring any valid, unexpired government ID. Aadhaar is the simplest choice, since your name has to match across all your documents.
- What it costs
- Free if you have it.
- How long
- Ready straight away if you have it.
Passport-size Photographs
Same photo as your NTA registration
- What it is
- These are for the college's records. They must be the same photo you uploaded during NEET registration.
- How to get it
- Print 8 colour copies from the exact file you uploaded to NTA.
- What it costs
- About Rs.50–150 at a photo studio.
- How long
- Same day.
Medical Fitness Certificate
Registered allopathic practitioner (MBBS or higher)
- What it is
- This confirms you are fit for clinical training. Some colleges issue it when you report; others want it in hand beforehand.
- How to get it
- Get it from a registered MBBS doctor, or from the allotted college's own medical board if they insist on using theirs.
- What it costs
- Free at a government hospital; Rs.200–1,000 at a private one.
- How long
- Same day.
Birth certificate: only needed as a backup if your Class 10 certificate does not print the exact date of birth.
Delhi eligibility
This is what opens up the 85% Delhi quota.
NCT Delhi School Study Certificate
Principal, on the prescribed proforma
- What it is
- Proof that you studied Classes 11 and 12 in a recognised school in NCT Delhi and passed the qualifying exam from Delhi.
- How to get it
- Get the certificate from your school Principal on the prescribed proforma, confirming that the school is within NCT Delhi, board-affiliated, with regular attendance.
- What it costs
- Nominal / free from the school.
- How long
- Same week if the school issues it promptly.
Watch out: This takes the place of a domicile certificate, and without it you do not qualify for the Delhi quota.
Reservation documents
Only if it applies to youOnly if you are claiming a reserved category.
Reservation Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
MCC colleges: SC/ST and EWS from the listed competent authority, OBC-NCL on the Central list. GGSIPU colleges: Government of NCT of Delhi
- What it is
- Proof of your reserved category. Which version you need depends on who counsels the college, because Delhi's medical seats are split between MCC and GGSIPU.
- How to get it
- For the MCC-counselled colleges (DU's LHMC/MAMC/UCMS/MAIDS and IP-University's VMMC, ABVIMS-RML, ESIC Dental), the OBC certificate must carry a sub-caste on the Central OBC list, along with a non-creamy-layer certificate for the current financial year, and SC/ST/EWS must be on the MCC's prescribed format. For the GGSIPU-counselled colleges (North DMC / Hindu Rao, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar), the SC/ST/OBC certificate must be issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi.

- About 2-3 weeks; apply well before reporting.
Watch out: Do not assume a Government of NCT of Delhi OBC certificate works everywhere. For the MCC colleges (which are most of Delhi's seats) the OBC entry must be on the Central OBC-NCL list in the central format; a Delhi-list OBC certificate is rejected there. Get the EWS and OBC-NCL certificates freshly dated for this financial year.

PwBD Certificate
AIQ/MCC seats: one of the 16 designated Disability Certification Centres. GGSIPU seats: the route in the GGSIPU bulletin
- What it is
- Disability certificate for the 5% Persons with Benchmark Disability horizontal reservation.
- How to get it
- For any MCC-counselled seat (which covers the DU and IP-University central colleges, both AIQ and 85% state quota), the certificate must come from one of the 16 Disability Certification Centres listed in the MCC bulletin. Three of them are in Delhi: VMMC & Safdarjang, ABVIMS & RML and Lady Hardinge Medical College. For GGSIPU-counselled colleges, use the disability route specified in the GGSIPU bulletin.

- Free at a government facility.
- How long
- Apply early; slots at the designated centres are limited.
Watch out: Only the 16 MCC-designated centres can issue the certificate that MCC accepts, and each centre certifies only specified disability categories. A certificate from any other hospital, even a government one, can be rejected at MCC verification.
Educational Concession Certificate (CW / wards of defence personnel)
Kendriya Sainik Board / Rajya or Zila Sainik Board, in the prescribed format
- What it is
- Proof for the 5% horizontal reservation for Children/Wards of defence personnel (CW), used for the 85% Delhi-quota seats at the DU colleges.
- How to get it
- Get the Educational Concession Certificate (ECC) in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi prescribed format from the Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board, Delhi, or the relevant Rajya / Zila Sainik Board, stating your CW priority (Priorities I to IX).
- What it costs
- Nominal / free (service-issued).
- How long
- Start early; the Sainik Board issues it after its own verification.
Watch out: The ECC must be in the University of Delhi's prescribed format, and the documents you upload must support the exact CW priority you claim, or the claim is marked 'Not Eligible'. CW reservation applies only to the 85% state-quota seats, not the AIQ seats.
Money to keep ready
DU Surety Bond (Rs.3 lakh, two sureties)
University of Delhi, Faculty of Medical Sciences (proforma on msc.du.ac.in)
- What it is
- A bond worth Rs.3 lakh with two sureties that DU-college candidates must sign at provisional admission; the admission does not hold until it is signed.
- How to get it
- Download the surety-bond proforma from msc.du.ac.in and have it signed with two sureties at the time of provisional admission to a DU college (LHMC, MAMC, UCMS, MAIDS).
- What it costs
- Bond value Rs.3 lakh (forfeited only if you breach the rules), plus stamp/notary charges.
- How long
- Arrange the sureties and stamp paper before your reporting date.
Watch out: The bond money is forfeited if you give up the seat in violation of MCC rules after joining, leave the course before completion, or are removed for misconduct. Your original certificates stay with the college and are released only after the course or once you settle the bond.
GNCTD Compulsory Service Bond (Rs.15 lakh, one year)
Government of NCT of Delhi (GNCTD); submitted to the admitting Delhi-government medical college
- What it is
- A one-year compulsory service bond brought in by GNCTD for both AIQ and state-quota MBBS students of Delhi-government medical colleges. The bond amount for undergraduate (MBBS) is Rs.15 lakh.
- How to get it
- Sign the GNCTD service bond at the time of admission at the admitting college. It applies at the Delhi-government colleges named in the order: Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College & Hospital, Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya (CNBC) and Hindu Rao Hospital & North DMC Medical College.
- What it costs
- Bond value Rs.15 lakh for MBBS (forfeited only if you opt out of the one-year mandatory service).
- How long
- Prepared and submitted at admission; arrange the stamp paper beforehand.
Watch out: The bond applies to both All India Quota and state-quota students at these Delhi-government colleges, and the Rs.15 lakh is forfeited if you want to opt out of the mandatory one-year service. Confirm the current amount and list of colleges, as GNCTD revises the order from time to time.
The Delhi checklist
- Eligibility: Class 11 and 12 in a recognised NCT Delhi school, proven by the Principal's prescribed-proforma certificate, not a domicile.
- Reservation: certificate from the Government of NCT of Delhi; OBC/EWS freshly dated.
- Two authorities: GGSIPU and DU run different Delhi colleges, so check which one conducts your target college.
- Central vs state for AIQ: the Delhi reservation certificate is for the Delhi quota; AIQ needs a central-list OBC-NCL certificate.
