GGSIPU & University of Delhi (Delhi NCT)Verified 7 June 2026

Delhi is decided by where you did Class 11 and 12, not a domicile certificate

There is no Delhi domicile certificate for medical admission. The 85% Delhi quota goes to candidates who studied both Class 11 and Class 12 in a recognised school in the NCT of Delhi and passed the qualifying exam from a Delhi school. The proof is a school certificate from the Principal, on the prescribed proforma, confirming the school is in NCT Delhi.

How Delhi defines a local candidate

Class 11 and 12 in NCT Delhi. Eligibility is based on physically studying 10+2 (Classes 11 and 12) in a recognised Delhi school and passing the qualifying exam from Delhi, not on any domicile certificate.

The proof is the Principal's proforma. A school certificate from the Principal, on the prescribed proforma, confirming the school is within NCT Delhi and affiliated to a recognised board, with regular attendance.

You are considered for the 85% state quota and the 15% All India Quota run by the MCC. The documents below cover both. One difference for AIQ: your OBC certificate must be on the Central OBC-NCL list in the central format. A Delhi reservation certificate (from the Government of NCT of Delhi) works for the Delhi quota but is rejected for AIQ. If you plan to use both, get a central-list OBC-NCL certificate as well.

  • Reservation: certificate from the Government of NCT of Delhi; OBC/EWS freshly dated.
  • Two authorities: GGSIPU and DU run different Delhi colleges, so check which conducts your target college.
  • Central vs state for AIQ: the Delhi reservation certificate is for the Delhi quota; AIQ needs a central-list OBC-NCL certificate.

Keep the full Delhi checklist

Download the branded PDF with every document, authority, cost and watch-out, ready to print and tick off.

You apply to two pools. Every Delhi candidate also needs the All India Quota documents, so see the AIQ guide.

About this guide

Verified 7 June 2026

Prepared by neet2seat. Rules, fees and timelines were verified against official sources as of 7 June 2026, using the 2025 counselling cycle as the baseline because the 2026 MCC and state information bulletins were not yet published when this was written. The 3 May 2026 NEET UG exam was cancelled; the re-exam is on 21 June 2026 with results expected in July, so every counselling date will move accordingly. Fee figures are from 2025 bulletins and can change. Cross-check the exact proforma, fee and signing authority against the official 2026 brochure before you get any certificate made. This is information, not legal advice.
